Large Quilt Panel - DEANNA BLUE
Your one of a kind hand embroidered quilt awaits.
One of a kind because it will be embellished with your own stitching, adding your personal handmade touch. These quilt panels are designed for hand embroidery without the overwhelm of stitching every inch of a full quilt. The pattern is intended to be enhanced with a variety of simple stitches, not covering the full design but rather adding texture and making the colour and shapes pop. For its size it is quick to stitch and allows for a variety of stitches of your choice.
You can outline the petals or fill them with satin stitch or add a few French knots or some single stitches. There is no wrong way to do it and it is a lovely way to stitch intuitively.
Your panel can be turned into a puffy quilt by the addition of wadding and backing fabric. You can also turn it into a simple coverlet by adding just a piece of backing fabric.
If you’d like to make it bigger you can add a border using your own choice of fabric.

Embroidery threads:
If you’d like to add a pack of threads in matching colours you can do so in the drop down menu below. I have used only two colours here but of course you can use more. The colours I’ve used are DMC 503 and DC 930. You can use a variety of different blues, add other colours if you like and of course if you have a collection of threads at home by all means use those. Using perl thread is also fine for this project.
A thread pack is an additional $59 and contains 24 skeins of thread and 6 x Chenille size 22 needles.
